King’s Day is a national holiday in the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Celebrated on April 27th, the date marks the birth of King Willem-Alexander. When the Dutch monarch is female, the holiday is known as Koninginnedag or Queen’s Day. This tradition features a nationwide vrijmarkt, or “free market,” where locals sell used items. Oranjegekte, or “orange madness,” dominates the day as citizens wear orange attire. All of this info is the inspiration behind the upcoming Nike Air Max 1 King’s Day.
