Welcome Skateboarding is brand that embraces skateboarding for the creativity and individuality it has always bred and thrived on. In other words, it’s a skateboard company that hasn’t forgotten what skateboarding is all about. The Welcome Skateboarding x Nike SB Blazer Mid comes dressed in a Sail, Dark Beetroot, and White color scheme. The sneaker starts off with a Sail leather upper decorated with a toe that shows signs of wear and pre-distressing to help give it the asphalt’s rugged texture. Elsewhere you will find hits of Dark Beetroot on the edges of each panel, while the houndstooth patterns adorning the laces and lining level up the overall appearance of the sneaker. The sneaker also comes with the Welcome Skateboarding logo on the tongues, while “Casa Welcome Madrid” is housed on the heel tabs. This is the first pair of Saucony shoes I've ever owned and I'm very pleased. I've typically worn the heavy, suede, New Balance 564 fora retro running shoe, but wanted something lighter. The low profile sole is more reminiscent of Onitsuka Tiger shoes, which are also a favorite of mine.

Unlike the Asics shoes, these have a more traditional running shoe style. As vegan shoes, I don't expect them to last long and I'm not expecting a great athletic shoe, because vegan shoes never are, imo. They're very comfortable shoes, although I'd still give the edge to Onitsuka Tigers in that regard. I am slightly worried that they don't breathe well, due to an inner sock lining that covers the entire inside, but that's not a huge factor for me.

The fit is just great for me, but I have somewhat narrow feet. These do run narrow, especially in comparison to the 564, which is wide even in standard widths. My most common athletic shoe sizes are 10.5-11 and I purchased these in a perfect 10.5. For the sake of comparison, I typically wear an 11 in Nike, 10.5 in Onitsuka Tiger and have recently had to size up to an 11.5 in New Balance.

In closing, I'll note that they come with 2 sets of laces in different colors, even though I saw no mention of this anywhere. I ordered them in Navy, and in addition to the Navy laces shown, they also included some in cream that match the stripe. I was actually hoping they would do that and will probably use the cream colored laces.

They should never stop production of this shoe. It is the best for flatground freestyle. I wish the velcro straps were wider.

This same company offers similar shoes without laces. Personally, I prefer the laces; though the laces are more for looks than anything. Though you can tighten the laces some. . . These are really pull-on shoes.

These shows are quite light. I have the size 8 and they have a weight of 6.9oz. They are very “breathable”. The sole is non-skid. It actually has “Wild Gripper” written on the bottom.

There is nice padding inside. Also nice arch support. Though there is no information. . . I’m assuming they are washable, due to the type of material.

These shoes are Made in India.

I hadn't worn a pair of Chuck Taylor's for over 40 years and bought them for old times sake. Wow! They handle an orthotic very well and are surprisingly comfortable. They've become my shoe of choice and I wear them most of the time now. It's also great to be able to throw them in the wash with the clothes.
